1. Why do I need a Headache Specialist?
We have specialized training and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of headache disorders. It is recommended to see a headache specialist in the following situations, but not limited to:
- Feeling that your current headache medications are not working
- Experiencing side effects from your current medications, if you are having 15 headache days or more per month
- If headaches are disabling and interrupting your life activities,
- If you are starting to experience a headache that is significantly different than your typical headaches.
2. How shall I prepared for my 1st visit?
Make sure you complete all the paperwork sent to you at least 24 hours in advance. Please email or bring these forms with you, along with the following documents:
- Medical records from treating physicians
- A list of all your medications (including OTC medications and herbal supplements)
- Any diagnostic test results (labs, CT scans, MRIs). If you have a disc with you bring it to your appointment.
3. What shall I expect on my 1st visit?
- You will enter a warm welcoming environment from the moment you enter the door.
- Dr. Nazario-Lopez will obtain a detailed history of your headaches along with pertinent physical exam. She will then develop a personalized plan that you will feel comfortable with, which may include medications, further testing, referrals, and/or holistic measures.
4. I would like to do a Telemedicine visit. Are there any restrictions?
Dr. Nazario-Lopez is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Florida. State laws prohibit providers to practice telemedicine in states where they are not licensed. You must be in the state of Florida, in order to be seen via telemedicine.
5. How shall I prepare for my Telemedicine visit?
Please make sure you are in a safe private environment were adequate internet connection.
